Traffic disturbances on Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22, 2026 because of the Íslandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon
It is necessary to close streets immediately before and while the Íslandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon takes place. Traffic disruptions can be expected during the race, and runners, drivers and other road users are therefore asked to exercise caution.
The following information concerns road closures related to the Íslandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon. Please note that a large part of the downtown area will also be closed because of Culture Night. Further information is available at culturenight.is.
