The Bryndís Klara Memorial Fund was established by family and friends of Bryndís Klara Birgisdóttir, who passed away only 17 years old after a knife attack during Culture Night in Reykjavík in August 2024.
Bryndís Klara was a cheerful, brave & lovely girl who influenced everyone around her with her smile, positivity, and kindness. She will be deeply missed, but her memory lives on through the good work that her fund supports.
The goal of the Bryndís Klara Memorial Fund is to fight against violence among children and young people, support projects that promote a safe and loving society, and provide support to children who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing violence. Through its work, the fund aims to ensure that no child has to experience insecurity or fear.
The fund provides annual grants to projects working to create a safer society for children and young people. The distribution of grants takes place on Bryndís Klara's birthday, February 2nd, each year.
All detailed information about the fund, the application process, and grant distributions can be found at www.mbk.is.
The Knights of Love is a movement of people honoring the memory of Bryndís Klara by activating kindness within society, reducing violence, and improving well-being through open dialogue and tangible actions, regardless of age, origin, or background. See website
