12-14 children aged 0-18, are diagnosed with cancer every year in Iceland.  The Icelandic Childhood Cancer Organization (SKB) is a non-profit organization that was founded in order to fight for the children’s and their families’ rights and interests, and support them both financially and socially. SKB also supports doctors, nurses, and other professionals in acquiring skills and knowledge by having them attend conferences and seminars that directly benefit the members.

SKB tries to increase awareness and knowledge about childhood cancer in schools and among the general public by publishing and distributing various information about the matter.
