Ljósið is a rehabilitation and support center for people that are recovering from cancer and their relatives/supporters. The goal of Ljósið is to enhance everyday quality of life as well as to support emotional, social and physical strength and thereby reliving the side effects of cancer.
What started out as a small center in a tiny church basement in 2005 has grown into a comfortable center where over 500 people, both those diagnosed with cancer and their families, seek support and rehabilition.
Ljósið is a non-profit organization relying on public and private contribution to provide everyone diagnosed with cancer in Iceland the chance to improve their quality of life during and after treatment.
