Friends of India work together with volunteers from Action India in the state of Tamil Nadu in Southern India. Annually the organization supports the education of 500 children, runs a monthly donor program and provides financial support to children homes, education centers, as well as supporting rehabilitation of women and children that have been freed from bonded labor. In addition, Friends of India participate in the SUNNA micro finance program which has provided 500 loans. Many of the borrowers have managed to double (and even triple) their monthly income by investing in goats, sewing machines or other small business equipment – the program thus has real and sustainable impact on the borrower’s life. All of our projects are executed in close cooperation with to local communities. The organization is financed by donors – individuals, companies and charity funds. Our ambition is to ensure that every ISK delivers maximum impact on the ground.
