Eyþór Hannesson is a 65-year-old runner and environmentalist but he is well known for being an entrepreneur in "plogging" which combines jogging with caring for the environment. In the summer of 2018, he was diagnosed with carcinoma squamocellulare in his left jaw and since then he has gone through two major surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation. He was also sent to Norway for a radiation due to cancer cells discovered behind his eye. Unfortunetly these interventions have not been able to stop the spread of the cancer and therefore the struggle continues. This foundation is to make life easier during this difficult battle.
